About Shamrock Way

A family of volunteers, mentors, and partners — doing what it takes to have a positive impact.

A letter from our Executive Director

Since we formalized our nonprofit organization, it has been an honor to lead such a passionate team of philanthropists and sponsors. We have grown in many positive ways, and our impact continues to reach new heights with each passing year.

Our charity was founded on the principles and lessons that Bob Shamrock taught thousands of young men at the Shamrock Boys Ranch: doing what is right, helping the less fortunate, and protecting others with knowledge or action.

Our first campaigns targeted incarcerated youth — awarding scholarships to those inspired to change their lives. We entered juvenile halls and youth prisons to share the message, and many young men followed the path that I did, using martial arts as a tool to grow into good men. I am proud to say these campaigns saved many boys from a life in prison — made possible by a continuing grant from Frank Shamrock Inc and our many wonderful sponsors.

Next we focused on helping law enforcement — hoping to protect both officers and those being arrested — sharing knowledge from years of combat training powered by Shamrock MMA and MMALE, two assets donated to the Shamrock Way by Frank Shamrock Inc.

Then we saw that battered women could use our support and techniques, so a program was created to serve individual communities and female groups at risk. Partnerships became central to our work: our home builds with HOPE Sports, our battered women's program with the Fresno Police Department, and many more.

By far our most successful partnership has been with Showtime Networks — creating digital content with the intention of smashing the stigma surrounding mental health. With the release of this film we reached millions of people around the world.

One of our core missions remains to reopen the Shamrock Boys Ranch, which closed after my father's passing — and that vision has not been lost. We recognize that society has changed, and we trust that God will lead us to what will have the most impact for the most people. Right now, digital media is having the most impact around the world.

We continue our home building campaigns, veterans scholarships, and partnerships with quality social charities — while creating new digital media content that ends the stigma around mental illness.

I am so thankful to everyone who has partnered, supported, donated, and volunteered with the Shamrock Way. It has been the best days of my life sharing my father's legacy with all of you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Frank Shamrock

Success stories

We measure our success by changes in our communities.

The BiPolar Rock-n-Roller plays on

Our film on mental illness — made with Mauro Ranallo, NAMI, Fountain House, and Showtime Networks — became a national media story and reached millions, so anyone, anywhere could see it and get help.

Warriors Challenge — home builds

Our annual hands-on event brings volunteers into the communities we support. Our first Warriors Challenge weekend built a home in two days for a family living in poverty — gifted to the Lopez family in a ceremony none of us will forget. We vowed to do it every year.

Power of ONE — Fountain of Life Africa

When asked to present at Fountain of Life Africa's annual fundraiser, our team created a unique presentation — and our executive director personally delivered it. The results were extraordinary: the fundraising goal was reached, and a community was inspired into action.
